Obviously there are still a few problems that can not be fixed.
The finder can not completely fold down.
And the lens won’t allow the front plastic housing to be put back on.

Because one needs to be able to trip the shutter from the front I thought I would try and find a cable release that would work.

I found a pretty neat one that had space for a cable release and matched the black and metal finish of the camera.
